A full-time special education opportunity is available for an experienced educator to support students in Grades K-6 with mild to moderate needs. This contract position, starting as soon as possible through the end of the school year, is based in Modesto, CA, serving an elementary caseload of approximately 28 students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for elementary students in a Resource Specialist Program (RSP) setting
- Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and support staff to develop and implement effective accommodations and strategies
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation including IEP goals and assessment records
- Advocate for student needs and facilitate communication between school personnel and families
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active California Mild/Moderate Special Education teaching credential (required)
- Experience working with elementary students (Grades K-6) in a special education setting
- Knowledge of current special education laws, instructional strategies, and assessment procedures
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills to manage a caseload of approximately 28 students
