Elmet Technologies  is seeking a Machine Operator in our Cutting Room. This person  will be responsible for shearing and leveling all materials to customer specifications and for in-process operations to feed material to all mills.   Based in Euclid, OH, within easy driving distance from I-90, Elmet is definitely worth looking at, Apply Today!

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-2 years of experience
  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent
  • Position demands the ability to use basic arithmetic and to interpret and adhere to specification requirements.
  • Basic math skills (i.e., decimals, percentages) are required to perform necessary job functions
  • An understanding of basic measuring equipment (micrometers, dial calipers and dial indicators) and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to communicate proficiently both orally and in writing using the English language
  • Business needs and trade compliance requirements mandate that this position be held by a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.

    • JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Shear orders or in-process materials as required to meet customer specifications.
  • Set machine to level orders or in-process materials as required to meet customer specifications.
  • Assist slitters to coil material.
  • Use lift equipment to move and position material as necessary.
  • Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain high quality standards.
  • Assure consistent product quality through established production methods and techniques; understand cause and effect of process variables on final product.
  • Recommend improvements to safety and housekeeping procedures following the JSA procedures.
  • Maintain equipment in safe and efficient operation by working closely with maintenance department. Identify preventative maintenance routines.
  • Maintain work area in a clean, safe and orderly condition.

    • WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to lift and maneuver up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Routinely operates / uses equipment, machines, and tools requiring hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity
  • Must have 20 / 20 correctible vision
  • Routinely communicates face-to-face
  • Routinely performs duties in production floor environment
  • Must be able to reach overhead and below the knees including bending, twisting, pulling and stopping
  • Must be able to stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time or for an entire work shift
  • Must be able to wear protective gear
