Sargent Electric Company, consistently named one of the top fastest growing companies by the Pittsburgh Business Times, is looking to hire a talented Purchasing And Sourcing Specialist for our Renewables Energy division. The Purchasing & Sourcing Specialist supports the Strategic Sourcing Manager by executing day-to-day procurement activities for renewable energy projects. This role focuses on tactical purchasing, supplier coordination, and documentation accuracy, ensuring project timelines and compliance requirements are met. The Specialist acts as the operational link between project teams, suppliers, and the Strategic Sourcing Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Execute procurement lifecycle tasks under the direction of the Strategic Sourcing Manager.
• Manage assigned commodities and maintain supplier relationships, escalating strategic issues to the Strategic Sourcing Manager.
• Prepare and issue RFQs, conduct bid evaluations, and provide award recommendations for Project Manager approval.
• Develop and maintain procurement schedules aligned with project timelines.
• Draft and process Purchase Order packages, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
• Track and manage purchase orders from placement through delivery and closeout.
• Monitor supplier performance, report risks/delays, and recommend corrective actions.
• Support supplier audits and compliance checks as directed.
• Coordinate with internal teams on scope changes, expediting, and document submittals.
• Provide weekly procurement status updates to project managers and the Strategic Sourcing Manager.
• Lead weekly Project Procurement Meetings focused on tactical execution, with strategic oversight from the Strategic Sourcing Manager.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 2 years electrical or construction purchasing experience.
• Prior experience as a Purchasing Specialist or similar role in the electrical contracting industry.
• Direct experience in renewable energy projects (Battery Storage, Wind, Solar projects and High Voltage substations).
• Strong computer proficiency and ability to learn Viewpoint Vista.

Travel Expectations:

• Up to 10% travel for training and internal meetings.
• Training and onboarding travel to the Pittsburgh, PA office required.
