The Robert Balter Company (Balter), headquartered in Owings Mills has long been a leader in the highly-specialized fields of Geotechnical and Geo-Environmental Engineering, Pavements, Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Control (QC) Testing and Inspection, Special Inspections, Acceptance Testing, Non-Destructive Testing, Materials Laboratory Testing and Subsurface Exploration. For over half-a-century Balter has provided inspection, testing and engineering services on over 17,500 projects predominately throughout the expanded Eastern region, but inclusive of United States, It’s Territories, and Internationally.

Balter personnel hold Professional Engineering and Professional Geology licenses as well as advanced certifications including ICC (IBC), NICET, ASNT NDT Certifications, CWI, ACI, NASSCO, WACEL, CQM-certifications (USACE & NAVFAC), FHWA, DOT, FAA, AHERA, OSHA and other nationally recognized agencies to fulfill design and construction inspection credentials requirements. All procedures are performed in accordance with a Quality Management System (QMS) Manual approved by accrediting agencies.

Candidates will have an opportunity to join a team environment participating on large scale and diverse geotechnical, pavement engineering and Special Inspection assignments throughout the mid-Atlantic region. PE and Masters Degrees are a plus.

Our engineering group is involved with Aviation, Structures, Coastal, transportation projects, W/WW design and CM, development, and Special Inspections assignments. The client base includes Federal, State, Municipal and high end private sector.

Firm includes excellent subsurface explorations division, construction and materials inspection group, and highly accredited and regarded materials testing laboratory. If your background and interests lean toward those specialty departments, opportunities are available to discuss and move into management roles.

Our engineers participate in marketing efforts and work closely with our Business Development personnel to allow for a complete professional relationship with clients.

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
