Job Description Summary :

The Computer Operator I (CO I) monitors and operates control consoles of mainframe digital computers or groups of minicomputers to process data. This role involves executing tasks as per operating instructions, performing data entry, conducting quality control checks, and assisting with system modifications under close supervision.

Key Responsibilities :

• Monitor and operate the control console of mainframe computers or minicomputers.
• Execute test runs of new or modified programs.
• This position requires familiarity with the terminology of the office unit.
• Assist in modifying systems or programs as instructed.
• Resolve common operating problems with detailed guidance.
• Performs as a Data Controller / Harvester. This encompasses observing the Soldier conducting tasks and completing data collection forms on laptop computers or paper-based forms.
• Data collected will encompass Performance, Human Systems Integration, and Reliability, Availability and Maintainability.
• Conduct data entry and quality control checks of data.
• Investigate data anomalies and handle requests for information.
• Record data authentication group meeting notes and track requests for information.
• Manage accounting for all data in and out of the data management cell.
• Scan paper-based data products to digital format and shred paper-based copies.
• Utilize MS Access, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint for data management and reporting.
