Stake Center Locating is an industry leader in underground utility damage prevention. We are evolving our training ecosystem to raise quality standards, develop our workforce, and strengthen safety and field performance. You will play a vital role in this transformation by owning the content development, storage and revision aspects of our Training Initiatives.
The Content Developer is responsible for designing and building engaging, high-quality learning content that supports operational excellence, safety, and performance. This role partners closely with subject matter experts, trainers, and operations leaders to translate real-world work into effective learning experiences across digital, classroom, and field-based formats.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain learning content for instructor-led, virtual, and self-paced training
- Translate complex technical and operational information into clear, learner-centered materials
- Build instructor resources, job aids, how-to-guides, courses and evaluations
- Collaborate with SMEs to ensure accuracy, relevance, and field alignment
- Apply adult learning principles and design principles
- Ensure content consistency, branding, and quality standards across programs
- Update and improve existing content based on feedback, performance data, and operational changes
- Support pilot testing, revisions, and continuous improvement efforts
- Maintain version control and documentation for training materials
- Own the Locator Library and its contents
- Partner closely with the Training Administrator, Training Program Manager and Senior Director of Training
Required Qualifications
Experience developing training or instructional content (technical & safety preferred)Strong writing, editing, and visual communication skillsWorking knowledge adult learning theoryExperience with SharePoint, Microsoft products and other applicable authoring toolsAbility to collaborate with cross-functional partners and SMEsStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projectsAbility to work independently, own projects from end to endPreferred Qualifications
Experience in utility, construction, safety, or operations-based environmentsExperience with Instructional Design and ADDIE modelFamiliarity with field-based or hands-on training programsExperience with multimedia skills (audio, video, graphics)Experience supporting compliance or safety-driven trainingStake Center Locating is An Equal Opportunity Employer.
