PHP Website Administrator – Level 1 Location: Brownsville, TX, must self relocate Job Requirements Core Technical Skills Proficiency in PHP: Strong understanding of PHP syntax, functions, and frameworks (, Laravel, CodeIgniter). Database Management: Experience with MySQL or MariaDB, including query optimization and backup strategies. Front-End Basics: Solid grasp of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design principles. Server Administration: Familiarity with Apache/Nginx, Linux command line, and hosting environments (webmin, cPanel, Plesk, etc.). Version Control: Knowledge of Git for code management and collaboration. Security & Performance Security Best Practices: Implementing measures against SQL injection, XSS, CSRF, and managing SSL certificates. Performance Optimization: Caching strategies, image compression, and minimizing load times. Monitoring Tools: Use of tools like Pingdom, Dynatrace, or custom logging for performance and uptime tracking. Maintenance & Troubleshooting Bug Fixing & Debugging: Ability to identify and resolve issues quickly using tools like Xdebug or browser dev tools. Qualifications & Experience Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field – OR –Equivalent professional experience demonstrating strong technical proficiency in PHP development, website administration, and server management. Work Experience: 1–2 years of hands-on experience managing PHP-based websites, including server configuration, database administration, and security implementation.
