Registered Dietician
At Cedarbrook Senior Living, we work hard every day to find out what“Celebrating Life Every Day!” means to our residents and their families, then we help them achieve these goals. We are seeking a dynamic Registered Dietician.
Responsibilities:
- Travels between the three Cedarbrook communities (Bloomfield Hills, Northville, and Rochester) throughout the work week.
- Assess the nutritional needs of residents within the Nursing Home.
- Determines nutritional diagnosis and identifies was to improve nutritional concerns through treatment/intervention.
- Leads nutritional operations, is self-motivated and organized to complete nutritional assessments and care plans for residents within nursing home and as ordered by a physician within Assisted Living and Memory Care.
- Accurately documents and communicates nutritional assessments and changes in special diets.
- Develops and reviews International Dysphagia Diet Standardization Initiative (IDDSI) menus in Cycle Menu Management to meet the RDI of residents.
- Promotes better nutrition by speaking to resident groups about diet, nutrition, and the relationship between good eating habits and preventing or managing specific diseases.
- Keeps up with the latest nutritional science research and communicates it to the Food and Nutrition team.
- May prepare, present and attend food and nutrition team member, resident and management meetings.
- May present changes in dietetics in the form of a training at the community level and follow up on regulation and policy changes to ensure accuracy.
- Provides training on special diets.
Education/Experience:
- Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD), Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration on the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from an accredited college or university, Master’s degree preferred
- Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics preferred
- Minimum of one-year experience preferred
- Senior living or healthcare experience preferred
- ServSafe Manager certification and ServSafe Allergen certification required within 6 months of hire
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) and Certified Food Protection Professional (CFPP) optional
- Driver's License required
