[job_card.job_description]Assist patrons with logging in, typing, and using a mouse to navigate the computer. Help patrons navigate the internet (connecting to Wi-Fi, sign up for online accounts, login to email account, and changing passwords). Support patrons with job search assistance : resumes, searching the internet for jobs, and job applications. Proficiency in (or a willingness to learn) Microsoft Word and Excel. The ability to communicate with a wide range of people and be able to break down technology and job-related topics in an accessible way. The ability to speak another language in addition to English.
Description
Hennepin County Library is looking for Computer Tutor Volunteers at a few of our libraries to assist patrons with computer basics. This opportunity will help library patrons improve their basic computer skills and job search skills through one-to-one assistance.
Locations in need :
- Franklin Library located at 1314 E. Franklin Ave. Minneapolis, MN 55404. Shifts available Monday – Thursday afternoons 1 : 00pm - 3 : 00pm or 2 : 00pm - 4 : 00pm.
- Golden Valley located at 830 Winnetka Ave. N. Golden Valley, MN 55427. Shifts available Monday - Wednesday evenings, or Thursday early afternoons.
- Webber Park Library located at 4440 Humboldt Ave. N. Minneapolis, MN 55412. Shifts available at Webber Park on Wednesday or Friday mornings from 10 : 00 a.m. - 12 : 00 p.m.
