Field Operations Oversight: Supervise the daily field operations of a survey crew.
Conduct Land Surveys: Perform land surveys and construction staking tasks.
Efficiency Management: Organize and maintain field crew efficiency to meet work schedules.
Accurate Data Recording: Precisely calculate and record field data.
Project Operations Direction: Oversee and direct project operations.
Equipment Maintenance: Maintain equipment and keep proper records of maintenance and repairs.
Personnel Training: Train assigned personnel in equipment operations and procedures.
Quality Control: Monitor work to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
Reporting and Documentation: Prepare written reports, calculations, and client interfaces.
Construction Staking: Execute staking for heavy highway, water & wastewater works, underground utility installation, and municipal infrastructure improvements.
Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel throughout Northwest Ohio and Southeastern Michigan.
Desired Skills and Experience:
5+ Years of Industry Experience: Prior crew chief experience is preferred.
Professional Licensure: PS preferred, but not required if able to obtain a professional license.
Versatile Surveyor: Proficient in multiple types of land survey field work, including Topographic/Existing Conditions, Boundary, ALTA, and Construction Layout.
Tech-Savvy: Desired experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble products.
Communication Expert: Strong communication skills encompassing listening, writing, and verbal proficiency.
Proven Track Record: Demonstrated work history, strong work ethic, and a collaborative team-player attitude.
All-Weather Warrior: Ability to work in all-weather climates.
