Providence Speech and Hearing, part of the CHOC healthcare system has an opening for a billing representative. The Billing Representative is responsible for insuring assigned accounts receivable functions are performed within the targets for day's outstanding, billing windows, percentage of A/R and cash. They will also perform A/R related assignments including those that are complex in nature where considerable judgment, analysis and initiative are required. Responsible for conducting all quality assurance efforts in preparation for billing/chart audits.
Pay Range: Minimum $20.94 Midpoint $27.73 Maximum $34.54
Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
Candidate must have experience with payment posting, billing and follow up of claims. Extremely high volume department.
* Required: Minimum two (2) years of accounts receivable/customer service experience with at least one (1) year of recent experience in healthcare billing and collections to include: computerized healthcare systems, cash receipts, private collections, Medicaid, Medicare, managed care and traditional insurance.
* Preferred: Three (3) years of accounts receivable/customer service experience supporting healthcare billing and collections.
* Required: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
* Preferred: Bachelor's degree in related field.
* Required: Intermediate skills in using Microsoft Office Suite e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Effective verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal relationship and collaboration skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, well organized, detail oriented and able to appropriately prioritize. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
