Water & Wastewater Project Engineer

AECOMs Water Business Line  is seeking a talented Project Engineer to support our Water Wastewater and Water Resources practice based in the Greater Philadelphia Area (Philadelphia PA Conshohocken PA and / or Newark DE).

The selected employee will have a primary focus on water / wastewater / water resources utility planning design condition assessment and mapping for state municipal and private clients. The candidate will perform a variety of tasks including site investigations field measurements utility investigations capacity studies condition assessments conceptual through 100 percent design cost estimating and construction administration / observation. The successful candidate will have ample opportunities to develop professionally through frequent collaboration with senior engineers project managers clients regulatory agencies and industry-leading subject matter experts and attendance at professional conferences.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to :

• Provides technical support for a variety of utility design related projects including treatment plants pump / booster stations water line and collection line design rehabilitation master planning and construction administration.
• Create designs calculations sketches diagrams schematic drawings and final working drawings.
• Work under supervision of a senior project manager in the water / wastewater / water resources practice or senior level team members.
• Utilize basic engineering principles judgement theories practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems.
• Work on routine or detailed engineering assignments involving calculations and engineering analyses.
• Perform work with little supervision.
• Propose approaches to solve new problems.
• Identify discrepancies in outcomes results and analysis of engineering tasks.
• Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
• Provide guidance to entry-level engineers.
• Record field data using tablets and GPS units.
• Record and interpret data conduct analyses prepare reports and compare findings to relevant studies and local state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
• Perform data gathering site visits field measurements mapping and observations during construction.
• Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
• Software use includes but is not limited to : AutoCAD Civil 3D ArcGIS Bentley and / or hydraulic modeling packages.
