Job Description :

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Security and guidance of Nursing Leadership, the Behavioral Health Safety Officer is responsible for protecting patients, visitors, employees and hospital property. The Behavioral Health Safety Officer rounds in Behavioral Health Units, Emergency Departments, and other assigned areas and is responsible for engaging patients, and promoting a safe and therapeutic environment while working in collaboration with department clinical staff. Responsibilities : ï,

• Continuous visibility and rounding throughout assigned areas to promote positive perception of safety for all patients, visitors and staff. ï,
• Ability to identify Patients at Risk and provide necessary clinical and security notifications. ï,
• Attends to escalating incidents such as "Dr. Strong".

Key Responsibilities :

First responder to patient threats of violence. ï,

Security Certification preferred. Complexity of Work : ï,

Qualifications :

High School Diploma / GED or equivalent and an additional two years of prior experience within a behavioral health, hospital, security, or other related setting may offset the education. Physical Requirements : ï,
