Engineering Services Manager

Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for Engineering Services Manager to join us in a permanent, full-time role . Based at our Springfield campus, these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — opening early 2026. This state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU, maternity, emergency and medical, surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.

Salary range : $62.68 per hour and   +

What you’ll be doing

You’ll lead the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality engineering and maintenance services across Mater Springfield facilities. As a technical and managerial leader, you’ll drive performance, safety, and continuous improvement in support of Mater’s mission and operational goals. In this role, you will :

• Manage engineering maintenance programs and oversee the operational budget across Mater Springfield
• Provide technical and managerial leadership to a diverse maintenance team
• Ensure plant and equipment reliability through proactive, preventive, and predictive maintenance planning
• Establish and maintain maintenance programs that meet relevant standards and workplace health and safety requirements
• Oversee safety systems and compliance, including permit-to-work and risk management processes
• Develop and implement improvement initiatives to enhance service efficiency and sustainability
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to align engineering operations with business objectives
• Lead, coach, and develop staff, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and excellence
• Contribute to strategic planning and resource optimisation to support Mater’s broader infrastructure goals
