Oracle is building an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) Public Cloud, and a large part of that effort is building a state-of-the-art networking and load balancing capabilities. We are looking for exceptional systems engineers with backgrounds in cloud services and distributed systems.

The Load Balancer team is building a high performance, scaled out, and high availability offering that will be the foundation of a modern cloud system. We believe that this team and its mission sits squarely at the center of Oracle's future and that this is an opportunity to rethink the way load balancing, networking, compute and storage systems interact and change the way applications are built.

On the Load Balancer Team, you will have the unique opportunity to help realize the Oracle cloud vision of building the cloud ground up. The role is mesh of systems engineering, automation engineering and network operations. Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience with systems/application development
• 2+ years of experience with distributed systems OR network programming
• Proficient at programming in any two out of Java, Python, and C/C++.
• Proficient with data structures, algorithms, operating systems.
• Methodical approach to troubleshoot, large, complex, interconnected systems
• Real-world production architectures, scalability, and system design. Cloud computing design patterns
• Bachelors in computer science and Engineering or related engineering fields
• Change management, continuous integration, and deployment best practices
• Demonstrable track record of dealing with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, handling escalations
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Chef or Ansible with Linux knowledge
• Experience in Software development or Systems Engineering/SRE roles running large scale infrastructure, cloud or web services

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with L7 proxy platforms (., Envoy, NGINX, HA Proxy, API gateways)

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate distributed, highly available load balancing services
• Automate configuration, deployment, and monitoring using infrastructure‑as‑code and CI/CD best practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in large‑scale production environments
• Continuously improve reliability, scalability, performance, and operational efficiency
• Participate in on‑call and incident response, drive root cause analysis, and preventive actions
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver end‑to‑end infrastructure solutions
• Mentor and help onboard new team members

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $79,200 to $178,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
