CPA or CMA preferred Demonstrated success in the following Advanced working knowledge of the following computer software : Strong experience with Microsoft Dynamics / Great Plains preferred, Excel, Outlook, UKG / Kronos Minimum of three years professional experience in a G / L Accountant / Accounting Manager / Controller role to include : payroll processing, general ledger, and accounts payable Strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills Must have ability to plan, prioritize, and complete tasks under stress with frequent interruptions. Able to successfully manage priorities in a fast-paced environment. Must provide attention to detail with a high level of accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Core characteristics include clear understanding of need to show initiative engaging as a self-starter Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve organization’s mission Analyzing situations accurately and taking effective action Organizing work, delegating, and achieving goals and objectives Exercising judgment and discretion in developing, applying, interpreting, and coordinating department policies and procedures Analysis and development of comprehensive measurement reports Effective communication and collaboration among physicians, staff, government officials and the public Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to make decisions quickly if needed; provide leadership in stressful situations including business emergencies; ability to prioritize multiple competing demands Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint Prepares monthly bank reconciliations for all company accounts Creates and inputs GL entries and reconciles and balances GL accounts on a monthly basis according to Emerge company policies and procedures Maintains files on Emerge corporate credit cards for payment processing and reconciles accounts bi-monthly Reconciles daily deposits recorded in Great Plains to the payments posted in the practice management system Reviews payment and coding of accounts payable invoices for payroll items, CEU expenses, expense reimbursements and company payables, ensuring they have been approved properly by the appropriate manager / provider and paid in timely manner with reasonable discounts taken Ensures that required debt payments are made on a timely basis Maintains Chart of Accounts Supervises, coaches, and provides direction regarding day-to-day accounting functions for G / L Accountants and A / P clerks according to company policies and accounting best practices Maintains vendor files and acts as point of contact for various office vendors Completes all payroll functions to include preparing and submitting regional payroll Prepares and files monthly Use Tax Processes 1099s at year end to appropriate vendors Guides financial decisions by collaboratively establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits; providing information to external auditors Develops and recommends the operating and capital needs for the region. Manages activities to assure financial goals are met. Monitors expenditures for compliance to approved plans and resolves discrepancies Correspond with vendors contracted by EmergeOrtho, banking relationships and insurance partners, when necessary Prepares monthly financial and productivity reports along with quarterly (or other) financial reports Issues timely and complete financial statements Coordinates the preparation of the corporate annual report Recommends and collaboratively prepares and analyzes benchmarking reports against which to measure the performance of company operations Calculates and issues financial and operating metrics Manages the production of the annual budget and forecasts Calculates variances from the forecast and reports significant issues to management Provides financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations Maintains General Ledger and annual reporting / tax filings for external LLCs affiliated with Emerge as needed including Surgery Center Coordinates the provision of information to external auditors Monitors debt levels and compliance with debt covenants Manage legal aspects of corporation; correspond regularly with company attorney; minimize and ultimately strive to eliminate all liability concerns Complies with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings Maintains confidentiality and complies with HIPAA privacy and confidentiality guidelines established by Emerge Follows all applicable Emerge regional and Emerge corporate policies and procedures Maintains detailed knowledge of computer software as it relates to job function Attends all regularly scheduled meetings and ad hoc meetings, as needed and / or requested. With offices across North Carolina, our William Penn Plaza office is seeking a motivated Regional Controller to join the team. The Regional Controller is responsible for performing or assisting with all accounting functions under the supervision / direction of the CFO and Regional Executive Director to include monthly reconciliations, accounts receivable management (along with the virtual business office director (VBO)), accounts payable, general ledger, employee payroll, routine bonus calculation oversight, financial analysis and other duties as assigned. This individual will be very skilled in reporting / financial analysis / strategic pro-formas as well as being proficient with current accounting software tools. This individual will also prepare financial and statistical reports as well as act as a point of contact for outside vendors (accountants, relevant vendors). The expectation is that this individual’s work ethic will support effective and timely completion of all work.
