Medical Biller

Affirmed Home Care, the tri-state area's premier private-pay home care company, is looking for a Medical Biller to join our dedicated team. With a strong reputation for providing exceptional care to our clients, we are seeking an experienced and organized Medical Biller with expertise in insurance processing and medical billing to ensure smooth and efficient operations within our financial department.

Position Overview:

As a Medical Biller at Affirmed Home Care, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of medical billing and insurance claims processing. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring that our clients receive the appropriate care they need while maintaining our financial operations. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience working with insurance companies and be well-versed in billing for private-pay home care services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies for home care services.
• Work directly with insurance companies, third-party payers, and clients to resolve billing discrepancies, denials, and inquiries.
• Review and verify patient insurance information to ensure accurate billing.
• Follow up on outstanding claims, ensuring timely payments and proper documentation.
• Post payments and reconcile accounts receivable.
• Maintain patient billing records and assist with financial reporting.
• Handle and resolve billing issues and ensure compliance with relevant insurance guidelines.
• Assist with the development and improvement of billing policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in medical billing, with a focus on insurance processing.
• Experience working with insurance companies, including private payors, Medicaid, and Medicare.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, codes (CPT, ICD-10), and insurance billing practices.
• Experience with billing software (QuickBooks or similar programs is a plus).
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve billing issues.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to handle insurance claims and customer inquiries professionally.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma required; certification in medical billing and coding is a plus.
