Location : Yonkers, NY

About the Opportunity

A regional building supply distributor is looking for an Inside Sales Representative to provide top-tier customer service and drive walk-in and phone-based sales. This role is key to supporting contractor, commercial, and industrial clients by answering inquiries, offering relevant product solutions, and ensuring a high-quality service experience.

You'll work on-site with retail customers, contractors, and internal teams, becoming the go-to expert for product knowledge, pricing, and transaction handling. The position includes base pay with bonus and commission opportunities and benefits designed to support long-term success.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver exceptional service to walk-in and retail contractor customers
  • Answer phone inquiries promptly and provide accurate product guidance
  • Upsell and suggest complementary products to increase transaction value
  • Stay informed about product specs, availability, pricing, and new launches
  • Resolve minor customer complaints and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Follow all company policies regarding refunds, credit memos, and sales documentation
  • Maintain stock levels and visual merchandising standards in assigned areas
  • Support teammates and supervisors as needed

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of inside or contractor sales experience (building materials preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and phone-based customer service skills
  • Ability to follow instructions, handle math-based transactions, and complete forms
  • Experience using safe lifting and warehouse techniques
  • High school diploma or GED required
