Accounts Receivable Accountant – Manufacturing | Excel Required
Newington, CT | Contract-to-Hire | Up to $32/hour
We’re working with a manufacturing company in the Newington area looking for a hands-on Accounts Receivable–focused Accountant for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning AR, working in Excel daily, and converting a temporary role into a long-term position.
What You’ll Do (AR-Heavy Role)
- Own the Accounts Receivable process: invoicing, cash application, collections, and aging
- Reconcile AR accounts and research discrepancies
- Use Excel (intermediate to advanced) for AR tracking, reporting, reconciliations, and analysis (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, large data sets)
- Support general ledger activities including journal entries and month-end close
- Assist with manufacturing accounting support such as inventory-related reconciliations
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely billing and collections
- Maintain accurate records and follow internal accounting procedures
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of hands-on AR and accounting experience
- Strong Accounts Receivable background required
- Comfortable supporting month-end close and general ledger work
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required
- Manufacturing accounting experience strongly preferred
- Experience with accounting or ERP systems preferred
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and interested in a temp-to-perm opportunity
