Core Responsibilities

• Performing thorough patient assessments, recommending diagnostic testing, and creating tailored care strategies
• Diagnosing and managing acute, episodic, or chronic conditions, in partnership with physicians or autonomously based on your qualifications
• Providing education to patients and families about health maintenance, preventive strategies, and disease management
• Prescribing medications and treatments consistent with practice guidelines
• Engaging in regular patient follow-up and management of chronic conditions
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive, integrated patient care
• Accurately documenting all patient interactions and care updates through electronic medical records (EMR)

Education Credentials

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Necessary Certifications

• Valid Nurse Practitioner license in North Carolina
• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or a relevant specialty
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required (or must be obtained within 90 days)
