Description
PURPOSE OF THE JOB :
The Receptionist serves as the first line of customer service for all patients and visitors entering our office. This role is essential in ensuring that patients receive the best possible service. Responsibilities include greeting patients, signing them in, scheduling future appointments, and handling incoming phone calls. The Receptionist will assist in maintaining a welcoming and efficient environment. Dental insurance experience preferred. Willingness to travel within both Periodontal practices desirable.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Acknowledge, smile, and greet patients upon arrival and dismissal.
- Respond to patient questions and concerns.
- Support dental insurance verification and submission
- Answer telephones and manage incoming calls.
- Schedule appointments and maintain the appointment book.
- Confirm appointments and follow up on no-shows or cancellations.
- Register patients on the sign-in sheet.
- Post charges and payments to patient accounts.
- Check voicemail daily.
- Maintain a clean and friendly waiting area for patients.
- Assist patients with completing necessary forms and documentation.
- Verify and update patient information in the system.
- Coordinate with dental staff to ensure smooth patient flow and minimize waiting times.
- Handle patient inquiries regarding billing and insurance.
- Provide information about dental services and procedures.
- Manage office supplies and ensure the reception area is well stocked.
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed, such as filing, data entry, and record keeping.
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
Experience working in a dental, medical, or other healthcare office.Knowledge of insurance plans is a plus.Experience in answering telephones.Exceptional customer service skills.Proficiency in using office software and dental management systems.Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.NICE TO HAVES :
Familiarity with dental software and scheduling systems.Additional certifications or training in customer service.
