Pay Rate: $36/hr W2
Hours: 40 hours per week

Job Summary The Equipment Specialist provides service and support to customers through preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of PerkinElmer and/or multi-vendor laboratory equipment. The role involves performing scheduled maintenance, basic repairs, calibration, and documentation while representing PerkinElmer professionally to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities - Perform scheduled preventive maintenance at customer sites within established timeframes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment issues; conduct post-maintenance testing and calibration.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation for dispatch, inventory, and service support activities.
- Ensure timely uploads/downloads of data to preserve integrity of service records.
- Educate customers on additional service offerings, consumables, and hardware/software upgrades.
- Maintain and track assigned company assets (tools, equipment, inventory).
- Manage inventory levels and ensure adequate records are maintained.
- Develop and maintain technical and soft skills through ongoing training and certification.
- Provide professional, customer-focused communication during all interactions.
- Complete administrative tasks such as time reporting and LMS trainings.
- Safely travel via air or ground transportation as required for business purposes.
Basic Qualifications - Associate degree in Applied Science, Biology, Chemistry, Electronics, Mathematics, Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline (including military experience).
Preferred Qualifications - Associate degree or higher.
- Experience in HVAC, refrigeration, or facilities maintenance is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
- Exposure to analytical equipment and/or lab environments.
- Understanding of laboratory safety practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer service focus.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, follow written/verbal instructions, and work safely with electrical, chemical, or biological materials.
Physical Requirements - Frequent walking, standing, sitting, and use of hands/arms for handling tools or controls.
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, kneel, or crawl.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
- Requires close and color vision with ability to adjust focus.
- Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate a motor vehicle are required.
Must Haves - Technical background or mechanical aptitude.
- Tech-savvy and fast learner.
- Adaptable and proactive in problem-solving.
Nice to Haves - Prior experience in a similar field service or lab maintenance role.
- Lab bench or sample processing experience.
- Background in biotech organizations such as Thermo Fisher, CBRE, or RENOVO.
Interview Process - 2 Rounds (both virtual) Duration: 30–45 minutes each
