Qualify opportunities alongside Sales, mapping merchant business goals to PayPal’s product capabilities, crafting solution architectures, demos and prototypes that showcasethe “art of the possible”
Run discovery workshops to develop requirements around PayPal's ecommerce solutions
Serve as technical project lead from discovery to contract signature, through go-live, building rollout plans, leading merchants’ developers through integration milestones, and coordinating internal Engineering, Product, Risk and Servicing resources
Establish best-practices, webhook and testing patterns to ensure resilient payment flows
Act as trusted advisor after go-live, analyzing transaction data and payment KPIs to recommend new capabilities (i.e.stablecoins, agentic commerce, network-token update, A/B routing, APMs, etc.)
Drive technical health checks, roadmap sessions, and executive briefings to unlock solution expansion and additional merchant value
Capture recurring merchant pain points, influence our product roadmap and surface feature requests to Product/Engineering to be the “voice of the customer” inside the company.
Build reusable assets, such as reference architectures, sample code, white-papers, demos, etc. Speak at internal technical events, webinars, conferences and partner events to evangelize PayPal’s solutions and modern payments architecture trends
Mentor junior customer engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of presales and implementation playbook
PositionRequirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in finance and computer science.
5+ years of experience/exposure in the following areas:
Web and mobile technologies including Web Services, APIs, GraphQL, REST, HTML/HTTP, iOS, Android and leading web and mobile application frameworks.
Multiple major programming languages (C++, Objective-C, C#, Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Perl, .NET, PHP, Python).
5+ years of experience with Payments (Credit Card, Banking, Online, Offline), especially with ecommerce systems, payments gateways and payment processors, is highly valued.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
Ability to successfully interact and dynamically adapt to communication styles with all levels of client organizations including C-level executives, middle management, finance and operations, technical/IT staff, and line personnel.
Ability to translate requirements into detailed design and solution documents.
Ability to quickly assess and troubleshoot most integration issues
Effective time management skills to work with multiple external customers concurrently.
Self-starter who can ramp up on new products quickly; design, develop and implement holistic custom solutions to enable expedited and seamless partner onboarding and launches
Strong presentation skills (Presenting to Business units and technical teams)
Less than 10% domestic travel. International travel is not expected.
