Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist
Location: Tempe, AZ (Onsite with Hybrid Flexibility, 2 days from home, after Training)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (with some flexibility)
Compensation: $25/hr - $29/hr DOE
Overview: We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Accounts Payable Specialist to join our client's team in Tempe. This is an exciting opportunity for someone skilled in full-cycle, high-volume AP who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can embrace change. As the company transitions from manual to automated invoice processing, your ability to pivot and stay organized will be key to success. This role is onsite to start, with hybrid flexibility offered after the initial training period.
Key Responsibilities: - Manage the full accounts payable cycle, from invoice receipt through payment processing
- Process a high volume of invoices daily with precision and attention to detail
- Accurately code invoices, obtain approvals, and enter data into the ERP system
- Support the transition from manual to automated AP workflows by following evolving processes and providing feedback
- Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and maintain strong relationships
- Review and process employee expense reimbursements in compliance with company policies
- Reconcile AP accounts regularly and resolve variances in a timely manner
- Maintain organized digital and physical records for audit readiness
- Ensure all AP activity aligns with internal policies, GAAP, and applicable regulations
Qualifications: - 4+ years of experience in full-cycle, high-volume accounts payable
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and invoice approval workflows
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs preferred)
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) is a plus
- Effective communication and time management skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Pay Details: $25.00 to $29.00 per hour
