Receptionist/Legal Assistant
Robert Half is partnering with a law firm in the Greater Worcester area in their search for a Receptionist/Legal Assistant to support their Trusts & Estates practice. This position is ideal for someone with a background in probate, MassHealth processes, or elder law, who thrives in a client-focused environment. The role combines administrative duties with legal support tasks, requiring excellent attention to detail and a meticulous demeanor.
Responsibilities:
- Handle incoming calls, manage attorney schedules, and coordinate appointments efficiently.
- Welcome clients warmly, gather intake information, and ensure a well-managed front office experience.
- Organize mail, scan and file documents, and maintain both electronic and physical records.
- Assist attorneys with drafting and filing probate court documents, including petitions, notices, and inventories.
- Support estate administration by collecting asset details, liaising with financial institutions, and organizing relevant documentation.
- Prepare drafts for estate planning documents, such as wills, powers of attorney, and healthcare proxies, as directed.
- Monitor deadlines for probate filings, client follow-ups, and estate-related milestones.
- Facilitate MassHealth applications by gathering necessary documentation and communicating with caseworkers and agencies.
- Provide assistance with long-term care applications, ensuring all required verifications and documents are organized.
- Maintain clear communication with third-party providers, ensuring thorough and respectful interactions.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in Trusts & Estates, Probate, or Elder Law is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of MassHealth applications or estate administration processes is a plus.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate empathetically with clients.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with legal practice management software.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality and discretion.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
- Experience with WealthCounsel, HotDocs, or similar legal software is advantageous.
