The Corporate Strategy Group charts our course for long-term profitable growth. This team drives Lam in the development of and alignment to our strategic priorities and key initiatives. Additionally, they oversee Lam’s Corporate Development team and Lam Capital, which makes investments that help fuel technologies of the future.

The Impact You’ll Make

• Conduct market research and analysis to identify and screen new investment opportunities in the semiconductor, software, advanced materials, and manufacturing sector
• Support due diligence on potential investments, including financial, legal, and operational aspects
• Perform financial modeling and valuation to assess the viability and growth potential of prospective investments or acquisitions (working with partners in Corporate Development). Specific activities include but are not limited to: sector research; analysis of investment portfolio returns; and financial modeling including building cap table, waterfall analysis, cash flow and revenue projections
• Support preparation of investment memos and presentations to present investment recommendations to the investment committee
• Assist in deal execution and portfolio management, including deal structuring, negotiation, closing, and post-investment monitoring

Who We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience, such as in Finance, Business, or Engineering. MBA, MFA, or MS Finance is a plus
• Total relevant industry experience of at least 4 years, or 2 years with graduate degree. Prior tech startup experience is a plus
• Experience in finance, strategy, product management, and/or business development is a plus, with a high degree of comfort with analytics & numbers
• Strong financial analysis and financial modeling skills, as well as proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a keen interest in startups
• Self-Starter, Creative and flexible problem solver who can cope with ambiguity and uncertainty
• Proven track record of personal, academic, and professional achievements

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.

Salary

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $69,000.00 - $159,000.00.

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
