Quality Resident Engineer

Job Profile Description

• Contact person for the customer and 1st Tiers as well as for the corresponding LEONI production sites for quality issues and escalation issues
• Supports with complaint processing ( 8-D-reports)
• Monitor compliance with applicable WSD and customer instructions and initiate appropriate actions in case of non-compliance
• Coordination of the assembly trials during the pilot phase/pre-series, documentation and follow-up of the attempts
• Lead escalation processes and moderate quality problems of the supplier/plant with customer
• Contact person for the customer in all relevant QM topics (complaints, product and process optimization, etc.)
• Continuous coordination and communication with colleagues, supervisors and various stakeholders.
• Supports the solving of customer problems
• Is authorized to take any measure, in close coordination with management, to ensure Customer satisfaction.
• Supports the plant Customer section with training need specific to the customer
• Drives quality meetings with customer
• Escalation meetings in case of critical topics whatever the responsibility (LEONI or customer): pre-production, 0-km issue or warranty
• Attends regular internal follow-up meetings with various internal stakeholders with support of back office and ensures that actions are compliant with agreed Customer Specific Requirements and objectives
• Drives quality support at customer and control actions
• Coordinates the Residents and Leoni's customer assembly line operators at customers regarding problem solving (technical analysis, containment & rework actions), checking conformity of products and effectiveness of corrective/preventive Actions
• Realization of rework for customer (customer responsibility) and customer’s support during pre-production and production
• For each customer claim, check effectiveness and consistency of action plans with LEONI production facility and LEONI Residents
• Performs audit in customer warehouse and on car assembly lines, in order to check that LEONI handling and fitting rules are respected.
• Characterizes the non-conformities and provides technical details to production facilities
• Communicates to customers and negotiates on behalf of LEONI liability for NQ-costs and Official Quality Complaints as required.
• In case of customer liability, proposes solutions and/or support to solve the issues (problem solving and customer-oriented attitude)
• Supports Supply Chain in case of logistics complaints by customer (transport, packaging, change of sequencing, etc.), propose solutions to Supply Chain (substitution, rework).
• Supports the QM project core team members
• Supports Supervision of cable harness prototype installation at the customer.
• Responsible of sampling process by OEM customers (organization and follow up)
• Supports Doing packing test together with customer(Pre-serial phase)
• Supports Release of packing instruction together with customer
• Supports Preparation of 8D Report (root-cause analysis and actions)for Customer and fill Omni tracker & customer portal when required
• Supports Field incidents / warranty - financial analysis
• Supports Model year change (change management) or technical change
• Responsible for Evaluation of product-quality / delivered quality
• Responsible to organize external re-work-company or Leoni
• Responsible to manage complaints in Omnitracker (start and final closing of complaints when required)
• Responsible for discussion of optimization-actions with customer, design center and plant
• Responsible of ordering material for customer-repair and own stock

Qualifications:

• 5 years experience in Automotive
• Wire Harness experience preferred
• Proficient English speaking and writing skills
• Good team work and interpersonal skills
• Problem solving skills
• Willingness to travel
