PRODUCTION PLANNER/SCHEDULER

Summary

• Able to plan, organize, control, and execute the shop schedule to ensure that products are produced efficiently, and completed on time. Understand the manufacturing process and make strategic decisions and/or changes as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Understand production processes, and the manufacturability of our product
• Work with the Production Manager setting general direction for production based on material and supplier availability.
• Prioritize when parts will be released to the floor for us to be successful
• Forecast or plan for long term product that are high runners and repeat items
• Predict the effects and changes in production understanding what affects this, interruptions, machine breakdowns, and other factors
• Anticipate disruptions from expedite orders and understand our capacity to support CTOS in all departments.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Qualifications include:

• B.S. degree in related field or 10-15 years’ experience in a production or manufacture environment.
• High level of experience in Microsoft Office; particularly Excel
• Experience in exporting data from ERP systems to drive schedules
• Capable of creating data sheets, reports, etc.
• Have good communication and the ability to motivate others
• Team oriented

Working Conditions

• Works between an office and plant environment with exposure to varying degrees of temperatures and noise.
• Ability to travel up to 5% of the time including overnight stays

Physical Requirements:

• Sitting, standing, walking
• Ability to work a schedule with punctual attendance, Monday through Friday plus any additional hours necessary to meet business demands including some weekends
• Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling etc. in 8–12-hour day, and up to 60 hours per week.
