Williamson County Courthouse Clerk
Reporting directly to the Office Administrator, responsible for providing information, assistance, and guidance to the various Williamson County Courthouse visitors and callers.
Examples of work performed include:
- Providing customer service to internal and external customers via telephone, email and in person
- Retrieving, sorting, and distributing incoming mail and faxes
- Providing information and directions to all visitors and callers including coordinating assistance for internal and external agencies
- Overseeing conference room, historic courtroom, and commissioner courtroom calendars for booking and use
- Entering workorders for repairs and collaborating with county staff on maintenance issues
- Performing light housekeeping and maintaining visitor areas and common spaces
- Assisting department staff and management with events and other clerical duties as needed
- Attending all meetings and trainings as required
- Performing special duties as assigned
Rotunda Assignment
- Providing coverage at a reception desk to assist visitors and callers
- Handling and managing all event calendars for Historic Court House and facilities
- Preparing and setting up courtroom for weekly Commissioners Court
- Scheduling all visitor tours, field trips and other visits to the courthouse
- Serving as back-up to the switchboard assignment
Switchboard Assignment
- Operating county switchboard and answering phone calls to be routed to appropriate department
- Assisting with translating calls as needed
- Assisting and maintaining internal and external phone numbers and addresses database
- Serving as back-up to the rotunda assignment

Physical Demands
- Position involves prolonged sitting at a workstation, visual examination of documents, reaching, walking, twisting, bending, standing and occasional lifting/carrying
Environmental Factors
- Work is primarily indoors in an air-conditioned environment
Irregular Hours
- Work outside of the normal office hours (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) may be required
- May be deemed essential personnel in the event of an emergency

Minimum qualifications include:
- High school diploma or GED
- One (1) year of customer service experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and multi-line telephone processes
Licenses and certifications are not required.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
