As a Student Transportation CDL Operator with Zūm, your day begins with a professional pre-trip inspection, continues with a punctual and safe morning route, and wraps with an afternoon run that gets every rider home reliably. In between, you’ll have time to reset, refuel, and prepare for the next ride—all while using Zūm’s innovative technology to stay on schedule and in sync with your team.

What You’ll Do

  • Operate school buses safely while adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Complete thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and immediately report concerns
  • Follow planned routes and timetables with consistency and professionalism
  • Foster a calm, positive onboard environment and support safe student behavior

Who Thrives in This Role

  • Minimum age : 21 years
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • For certified drivers : Valid CDL with P and S endorsements, CA School Bus certificate (DL45), and 3 years of CDL experience
  • For non-certified drivers : Valid driver’s license with 3+ years of driving experience; willing to obtain a CDL—training provided
  • Meets all state and federal CDL requirements (training and support available)
  • Ability to work daily split shifts (AM / PM)
  • Excellent communicator who enjoys working with children
