Procurement Intern - Buyer (Summer 2026)

Description

As a Procurement Intern - Buyer, you will gain hands-on experience supporting both the commodities and corrugated buying teams. This position will support the buying teams in the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulations. This positionwill also havecross functionalexposure withsales, customer service, logistics and our corporate inventory management and leadership teams.You willalso workwith vendors to ensure our purchase orders are processed timely and delivered as expected as well as invoice resolution.You will also be assigned a strategic project to complete and present to supply chain leadership.

Responsibilities

• Assistwiththe replenishment of products within a collection of preferred suppliers to maximize performance of inventory following established policies and procedures.
• Conduct cost analysis across categories
• Help buyers with their daily analysis of key reports that driveoptimalreplenishment.Analyze inventory needs and process purchase orders accordingly for general and customer dedicated stock.
• Interact with selected suppliers; support the cost negotiation and manage the integrity of data and cost.
• Assistthe buyers in theircost savingsactivities.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings to better understand the end-to-end supply chain
• Analyze inventory performance to ensure we are meeting working capital KPI's
• Complete a capstone project to be assigned at the time of coming on board

The targeted compensation for this position is between $18 - $19/hour. This temporary position is not benefits eligible.

This position is in the office five days a week.

Requirements

• Current Sophomores or Juniors pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a supply chain, business or a related program
• Positive attitude, team player, ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with Word, Outlook, Excel (or SmartSheet)
