Job Description

Reports to the Enterprise Logistics Coordinator or Service Manager

The Delivery Drivers role consists of 3 main functions : Enhancing Our Team, Serving Our Customers and Achieving Financial Goals. Each of these functions require different skills and time spent in each area but are equally important parts of being on the Bortnick Team.

Enhancing Our Team

  • Reports to supervisor between runs or after the final run, to help as needed.
  • Participates in assigned training, either as participant or trainer of other drivers.
  • Acts friendly and respectfully to all Team Members.
  • Operates trucks owned by the Company and maintains proper licensure and certifications.
  • Performs related other duties, as assigned.

Serving Our Customers

  • Follows instructions for pick-up, transport and delivery of equipment, parts and supplies to the customer.
  • Gives basic operating instructions to customer at time of delivery.
  • Assists in routing deliveries and arranging delivery tickets in order, as requested.
  • Keeps accurate records of pick-ups and deliveries and obtains necessary receipts and signatures as requested.
  • Friendly, respectful and helpful to customers during deliveries.

    • Achieving Financial Goals

  • Loads truck safely and efficiently to avoid any damage to merchandise / equipment.
  • Maintains the delivery truck, including servicing as needed, maintaining the gas and oil, and keeping it clean.
  • Reports any known mechanical failure or accident, regardless of size, involving company equipment to supervisor.
  • Collects and securely delivers Receipts of COD orders to the Parts Department.
