POSITION : Technology Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Technology and / or Education degree and job experience
- Demonstrated ability to repair and maintain desktop computers and servers in the PC architecture
- Demonstrated knowledge of computer systems in multiple platforms
- Demonstrated ability to train teachers and administrators in computer applications
- Demonstrated understanding of the impact and implications of technology on student learning
- At least three years of active experience in repair maintenance and training managing software
- Demonstrated knowledge of server redundancy via clustered virtualization.
- Demonstrated ability to configure and administer network domain environments using Microsoft Active Directory GPOs Google GAFE Chromebook Console and GoGuardian; Chromebook security management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of network functioning protocols including DHCP DNS SNMP TCP / IP UDP SSH SSL encapsulation VLAN subnets Layer-3 IP Routing and WLAN 802.11x standards.
- Demonstrated knowledge of SQL databases including installation licensing imports / exports backups familiarity with Microsoft SQL Management Studio and developing queries in Microsoft Visual Studio or similar environments.
REPORTS TO : Assistant Superintendent of Schools
JOB GOAL : Direct and oversee the Conway School Districts technology
services including planning purchasing maintenance and repair of the phone systems video systems computer networks software for systems operations and hardware making informed decisions focused on district goals to support student achievement.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :
Work interdependently with other administrators and educators to create plans for using technology to support student learningSecure funding for technology through careful budget planning and accessing resources such as E-rate and grant opportunitiesMaintain and repair school computers using local resources cloud-based supports and contracted servicesEvaluate outsourced work and set up effective help-desk processes supporting end-users with IT-related problems in a responsive mannerProvide support to end-users in system use creating reports and managing data within student information systemProvide access to school network resources through the use of school and personal devicesCollaborate with Assistant Superintendent of Schools to write guidelines and curriculum that encourages safe and responsible useCommunicate department goals as well as the importance of new technologies and their potential impact on students implementing new applications and best practicesEnsure security of information by managing firewalls and virus protection systemsDemonstrate an understanding of educational concepts and how technology can be used to support themMaintain up-to-date knowledge about different operating systems software firmware applicable to district use.Monitor systems performance and adjust maintain as appropriateMaintain the district data-bases and prepares required state / federal reports as assignedFacilitate district technology committee ensuring compliance with state and federal requirementsCollaborate with Assistant Superintendent of Schools to coordinate and create professional development opportunities for staff to increase integration of technology into instructionSupervise and evaluate technology staffMaintain obsolescence and disaster recovery plansAllocate resources (in terms of staff materials time and funding) to effectively address established priorities and identified needsEnsure district compliance with NHDOE OIT data collection processes ( real-time enrollment Performance Pathways CATE etc.) and perform role of system-admin for district employee access to all applicable systems under the MyNHDOE single sign-on gateway.Manage domain name registrations and all associated DNS pointer record configurations to ensure access to email and district websites.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : In accordance with the Administrators / Supervisors Personnel Policies.
WORK YEAR : 260 days / year round position
EVALUATIONS : Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with
provisions of the Administrators / Supervisors Personnel Policies. The Assistant Superintendent will be the evaluator.
