As the Medical Physicist for AIOF, you will be the technical leader in radiation oncology, working in close collaboration with radiation oncologists and a skilled support team. Your work ensures the highest levels of accuracy, safety, and quality in radiation treatment.

You will work with:

• Varian TrueBeam (VMAT, SBRT, SRS/SRT, 3DCRT, electrons)
• Eclipse and ARIA for TPS and EMR
• Physics efficiency tools including MIM, Radformation, and ImageOwl
• SNC equipment: DQA3, ArcCheck, SRS MapCheck, 1DTank, IC Profiler
• IBA Blue Phantom 2 with a comprehensive suite of chambers and electrometers

You'll support two experienced radiation oncologists at Anchorage Radiation Oncology Center, Midtown Anchorage. Your team will consist of three radiation therapists, one dosimetrist, and have the support of other physicists within our organization. Typical patient volume is 25-30 patients -dynamic yet manageable, with a focus on personalized, high-quality care.

Essential Responsibilities

Conduct weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual QA on linacs, TPS, and CT simulators following manufacturer, AAPM, and IEMA guidelines.

• Oversee a comprehensive QA program ensuring full regulatory compliance.
• Partner with dosimetry to oversee treatment plan quality and accuracy.
• Perform routine chart checks and patient-specific QA.
• Lead the radiation safety program and ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations.
• Drive quality improvement initiatives and RO-ILS safety review processes.
• Provide ongoing training for clinical staff regarding medical physics, equipment use, and radiation safety.
• Lead annual in-services and support continuing education efforts.
• Oversee maintenance, upgrades, and commissioning for radiation oncology equipment.
• Troubleshoot clinical systems to support seamless patient care.
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists to optimize treatments.
• Participate in patient conferences and support development of new procedures and techniques.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and treatment advancements.
• Contribute to chart rounds, meetings, and initiatives focused on practice improvement.

Requirements

• Board Eligible required; Board Certified strongly preferred (ABR or ABMP)
• Master's, Ph.D., or DMP in Medical Physics
• Minimum one year of post-residency clinical experience preferred
