Senior Product Designer

Datavant is a data platform company and the world's leader in health data exchange. Our vision is that every healthcare decision is powered by the right data, at the right time, in the right format. Our platform is powered by the largest, most diverse health data network in the U.S., enabling data to be secure, accessible and usable to inform better health decisions. Datavant is trusted by the world's leading life sciences companies, government agencies, and those who deliver and pay for care. By joining Datavant today, you're stepping onto a high-performing, values-driven team. Together, we're rising to the challenge of tackling some of healthcare's most complex problems with technology-forward solutions. Datavanters bring a diversity of professional, educational and life experiences to realize our bold vision for healthcare. As a member of our Product Design team, you will be designing our most critical user experiences and internal tools for our Release of Information team. You will be collaborating with Product Managers, Engineers and Operations partners to conduct user research, and design and build a suite of internal tools and enterprise capabilities that powers our internal operations teams to deliver high-quality products and service experiences to our customers. This area is central to orchestrating the interplay of digital and manual workflows at the core of healthcare information exchange.

Role Overview

As a Senior Product Designer at Datavant, you will lead the end-to-end design process for Release of Information (ROI), focusing on optimizing manual workflows and enabling digital fulfillment. You will redesign workflows to increase efficiency and improve user experience, all while ensuring platform stability and scalability as we transition to new technologies. Your work will directly impact healthcare providers, call center operations, and our backend systems, ultimately improving productivity and reducing operational costs.

Responsibilities

You are a full-stack designer, excited about user research, user testing, prototyping, as well as beautiful and functional interface work. You believe that enterprise and internal users deserve excellent experiences, and seek out every opportunity to bring delight and efficiency to the products you work on. At Datavant, design is an equal partner with product and engineering, and along with shared responsibility in building the best products for our users, you will ensure the usability of the products we build.

You will own the end-to-end product design process, from research to implementation.

You know how to deliver an intuitive and self-service workflow and experience for users (both internal stakeholders and external clients) from inherently complicated and technical products.

You will partner with product managers to conduct deep user research, through in-person and remote observation, interviewing, surveys, and product instrumentation.

You will present your ideas to a varied audience (product managers, operations and GTM stakeholders, and engineers) and iterate product designs with our technical teams and work closely with them to understand all the technical functionality and constraints of the application.

You will support in communicating the impact of the team's work, and be an evangelist for the customer.

Qualifications

Experience in the healthcare industry (provider or healthcare data experience would be a bonus), and experience and interest in high-volume operational users. 5+ years of relevant work experience in user research and design, preferably with experience in enterprise product design. Team player

you are smart, nice and low ego. You enjoy working smoothly with peers and supporting teammates to ensure growth and success of the entire company. You are able to put yourself in others' positions and understand their motivations, needs, perspectives and potential points of confusion. Experience with creating user interfaces that navigate through complex technical workflows and designing for high-volume operational users. Solid understanding of user-centered design methods across the full UX lifecycle. Great understanding of information hierarchy and design patterns. You should be able to produce quality designs (we use Figma). Used to working collaboratively in a multi-disciplined agile team and can be a strategic thought partner to Product Managers and Technology. High bandwidth, high productivity, and highly organized

you are noted for your ability to simultaneously manage multiple topics.

We are committed to building a diverse team of Datavanters who are all responsible for stewarding a high-performance culture in which all Datavanters belong and thrive. We are proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, or other legally protected status.
