Construction Estimator / Heavy Civil

We seek an experienced Heavy Civil Construction Estimator to manage and lead the estimating process for sewer, water, stormwater, and treatment facility projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of estimating costs for underground utilities, W / WW treatment, and related infrastructure work. You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates, collaborating with project managers, superintendents and engineers, and contributing to the overall success of our projects.

• Key Responsibilities :
• Review project plans, specifications, and contracts to understand the scope of work and technical requirements for sewer, water, stormwater, and treatment plant construction projects.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Develop take-off quantities for large, complex projects.
• Analyze and evaluate proposals, ensuring alignment with the project's scope, schedule, and budget.
• Work closely with project managers, superintendents, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure accuracy and feasibility of estimates.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions to enhance project delivery to owners and profitability.
• Provide support during the bid submission process, including clarifications, revisions, and communication with clients and stakeholders.
• Assist with the preparation of bids and proposals, including risk assessments and subcontractor selection.
• Maintain a strong understanding of market conditions, labor rates, material costs, and new technologies related to sewer, storm, and water systems.
• Stay up to date with industry standards, regulations, and best practices for underground utility and treatment facility construction.
• Qualifications :
• Experience :
• Minimum 3 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction, with a focus on sewer, water, stormwater and treatment facilities.
• Education :
• A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
• Technical Skills :
• Strong proficiency with estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, ProEst, Planswift or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Knowledge :
• In-depth knowledge of underground utility installation, sewer, water, stormwater and treatment systems design, and construction methods.
• Communication :
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.
• Detail-oriented :
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Problem-Solving :
• Ability to identify cost-saving opportunities, address challenges, and develop innovative solutions.
