Overview :
Our client, a global leader in firearms manufacturing, is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist and Programmer to join their advanced manufacturing team. This role requires hands-on expertise with multi-axis CNC lathes and mills, the ability to program using G-code and conversational programming, and a commitment to high-precision production in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Operate CNC lathes and milling machines, including program setup and operations (Mazak, DMG / Mori)
- Program complex parts for CNC multi-axis lathes and mills using G-code and conversational programming
- Utilize SolidWorks CAM for creating and optimizing CNC programs
- Develop machine setups and perform program edits, ensuring all programs are properly organized and documented
- Interpret 2D engineering drawings and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Select proper tooling for various production tasks and materials
- Work within tight tolerances of ±0.001”
- Perform part inspections using precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, etc.)
- Maintain high levels of quality in accordance with customer specifications and internal standards
- Proactively troubleshoot and resolve machining or programming issues
- Operate independently while also contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment
- Maintain accurate and organized job documentation
- Utilize electronic job tracking systems to update job status in real time
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on machines per maintenance schedules
- Perform additional duties as required to support team and production goals
