Surveyor in Training

Halff has a current opening for a Surveyor in Training in our Richardson, TX location.

What you will do:

• Organizing research for field.
• Reducing field observations.
• Preparing data for drafting.
• Assisting the RPLS by preparing Survey Reports.
• Preparing COGO calculations.
• Assisting the RPLS with the Boundary Analysis.

What you will need:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree or a Certificate in Land Surveying.
• SIT certification is preferred, or on the path to getting certified.
• Practical experience in producing survey maps and plats.
• Software skills:


• Civil 3D and Open Roads (ORD).
• Trimble Business Center (TBC).
• Microsoft tools, i.e., Excel, Teams, etc.




• Understanding of Computer Technology (tablets, iPads, etc.) required.
• Must have a valid Texas Driver's License.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability and willingness to follow instructions that may be written, delivered verbally, or conveyed from various methods of communication.
• Must be flexible, dependable, responsible and disciplined to be a positive representative for Halff and remain punctual on a consistent basis.
• Overtime and weekend work may be needed to meet project deadlines.
• Ability to pass a drug and background screen.

Physical Requirements:

• Excellent physical condition to perform field work, outdoors, in various conditions including extreme heat, cold and wind.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Must be able to travel to various project sites.
• Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
