Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This position requires a dedicated Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in a K-12 educational setting. The role is based in Metairie, LA, and is offered as a contract position for the current school year (CSY). This opportunity is ideal for educators experienced in supporting students with hearing impairments and committed to fostering inclusive learning environments.

Key Responsibilities :

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of deaf and hard of hearing students.
• Utilize specialized instructional strategies and assistive technologies to enhance student learning and communication.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to ensure cohesive educational support.
• Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports in compliance with educational guidelines.
