Med / Surg RN Job Details – Omaha, NE

Location : Omaha, NE 68124 (Nebraska healthcare jobs)

Employment Type : Travel Registered Nurse, On-Site

Unit : Medical / Surgical (Med / Surg)

Shift : 12-hour night shifts (3 shifts per week)

Hours per Week : 36

Assignment Duration : 13-week contract

Start Date : December 15, 2025

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1860–$2000

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Nebraska or compact state)

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to first shift

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required prior to first shift

Minimum 1 year of recent bedside clinical experience in Med / Surg nursing (2 years preferred)

Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for medical-surgical patients

Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process : assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation

Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and new staff

Promote patient and staff safety by following hospital policies and clinical safety protocols

Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record

Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals

Initiate discharge planning and provide patient and family education from admission through discharge

Foster a positive, efficient work environment through teamwork and effective communication

Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation

Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education for nursing excellence
