Roots is an interdisciplinary specialty clinic that provides bottom-up therapy and treatment. This allows us to offer premium-level treatment services including clinical treatment, rehab therapies, and other complementary services to provide individualized and comprehensive care to our patients.

Roots is seeking a Clinical Therapist who is passionate about helping patients with a range of psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders improve their emotional regulation capacities and improve overall social-emotional, relational, and behavioral functioning, who has experience working with patients with various complex psychological presentations, particularly with adolescent and adult males with trauma histories and presentations.

General Requirements:

• Master of Science in Psychology, Master of Clinical Social Work, Master of Arts in Counseling, or other related degree
• Licensed by the State of Michigan

Roots Qualifications:

• Specialized training in trauma/psychosomatic treatment or related specialty areas (EMDR required; others may include TBRI, Theraplay, Play Project, MNRI, somatic psychotherapy, DIR, etc.)
• Experience working with challenging populations/disorders/diagnoses
• Commitment to interdisciplinary work, recognizing the importance and value of a holistic treatment approach

Job Expectations:

• Assess, diagnose, and treat individuals for a variety of psychological, behavioral, relational, and other social-emotional delays and disorders.
• High attention to detail when planning, implementing, evaluating and documenting treatment.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to successfully utilize EHR (electronic health record) system for scheduling, documentation, and patient record management.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain regular attendance.
