Position Description and Job Skill Set

The Independent Senior IT Consultant will spearhead the following :

Governance and Accountability

Align IT practices with internal policies, governance, and regulatory expectations.

Provide objective, third-party validation for senior managers, executives, and board members.

Mitigate conflicts of interest through fact-based assessments.

Legal and Regulatory Risk Reduction

Identify gaps in compliance with laws and regulations.

Prevent fines, sanctions, litigation, and federal enforcement action.

Ensure IT controls support legal obligations.

Policy Effectiveness

Evaluate IT policies for legal soundness and current compliance.

Highlight inconsistencies between written policies and actual IT practices.

Decision Making for Leadership

Provide clear, unbiased insight to support strategic decisions.

Translate technical findings into legal and policy implications.

Cost Savings and Efficiency

Prevent costly remediation after incidents.

Identify redundant or non-compliant systems.

Align IT investments with legal and policy priorities.

Actionable Roadmap

Deliver prioritized recommendations spanning technical controls, policy updates, and legal compliance.

Required Skills / Experience

Technical and Domain expertise in IT, Finance, HR management.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication.

Client and Stakeholder Management.

Project Management.

Business and Commercial Skills.

Self-Management and Independence.

Preferred / Not Required

Bachelor's or Master's degree.

10+ years working for large consulting companies.

10+ years delivering consulting or advisory services.

Experience working with the Department of Labor.

Skill Set

Operating Systems : Microsoft (SME) - Required

Programming Language / Development Tools : JIRA (Advanced) - Preferred

Project Management : SME - Required

Hardware : Basic understanding (Beginner) - Required

Database Systems : Intermediate - Required

Framework / SLD / Methodology : Agile (Intermediate), DevOps (Intermediate) - Required

QA / Testing : Certification in QA (SME) - Required
