Job Summary :
Recreation Program Leaders support the delivery of recreational programs and services throughout the City of Lancaster. Positions filled at this hiring event may be assigned to one of the following areas based on operational needs and candidate interest :
- Lancaster Community Center (LCC) : Focused on front desk operations, facility-based programs, customer service, and youth enrichment activities at a community center setting.
- Youth Services – Summer Day Camp : Focused on supervising children during an 8-week summer day camp program, including daily activities, outdoor play, off-site field trips, and weekly swim days.
All assignments involve creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for participants while working collaboratively as part of the PARCS team.

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following :
Lancaster Community Center (LCC) :
Serve as a front desk representative by answering phones, emails, and in-person inquiries.Process program registrations and class enrollments.Provide facility tours and communicate information about LCC programs and services.Assist with planning, setup, and execution of programs, meetings, and events.Develop and deliver age-appropriate lesson plans for toddler and youth programs.Supervise and lead groups of youth and adults in a safe and inclusive environment.Prepare rooms for classes, meetings, and events and restore spaces afterward.Assist with general facility upkeep, organization, and supply management.Youth Services – Summer Day Camp :
Assist with planning and supervising daily camp activities, games, and excursions.Lead and supervise campers during indoor and outdoor activities.Support and attend weekly off-site field trips.Participate in weekly swim days and actively supervise campers in the water.Ensure camper safety, engagement, and positive behavior throughout the day.Serve as a positive role model and support a team-oriented camp environment.General Duties (All Assignments May Include) :
Assist in conducting recreational activities at parks, community centers, and facilities.Staff athletic games, leagues, and tournaments.Set up and break down equipment, tables, and chairs for events and activities.Welcome visitors and respond to public inquiries.Perform other related duties as assigned.The duties listed above are not intended to be all-inclusive.
