JOB SUMMARY: The Nurse Practitioner will function as a licensed independent practitioner (in partnership with our medical director) and will be responsible for providing primary and urgent care to our seminary/college students, alumni, staff and their respective families. They will be expected to work 32 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The employee in this position will have the following essential job functions:
- Provide preventative, general and urgent care
- Conduct physicals and women's annual exams
- Diagnose, prescribe and treat illnesses
- Chart using the clinic's electronic records program
- Be independent in following up with care provided and ordered
- Work with the team of nurses/medical assistants and office manager in providing care to our campus family
Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
EDUCATION: The person in this position must be a Board Certified Advanced practice Registered Nurse with licensure in Kentucky.
EXPERIENCE: The person in this position will preferably have 3-5 years experience as a family practice Nurse Practitioner.
SUPERVISION: The person in this position will supervise: no one.
The person in this position will report to the Medical Director as a provider, and to the Clinic Director as an employee. The person in this position will be part of a team of licensed professionals and will work as part of the team in the Campus Clinic.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The person in this position will work in: collaboration with the Medical Director but will need to be able to work independently in providing care for our patients. The Nurse Practitioner will be assisted by the nursing staff in the clinic office and the office manager as needed.
EQUIPMENT: The person in this position will use the following equipment: Computer (especially for our electronic medical record), simple suturing skills/equipment, phlebotomy skills/equipment preferred, AED, and CLIA -waived lab testing/equipment.
