Job Description : TRAK Machine Tools is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer Intern to join our Engineering team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting our Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineers in the development of our cutting-edge CNC Machines. The intern will contribute to various aspects of the product lifecycle, learning about design, documentation, and engineering processes in a real-world manufacturing environment.
What you will be Doing :
- Assist Mechanical Engineers in developing, designing, and documenting mechanical components and assemblies for CNC machines.
- Work with engineers to create and modify 3D models and 2D engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
- Support the creation and updating of Bills of Materials (BOMs) for assemblies and kits.
- Participate in the Engineering Change Request (ECR / ECN) process by updating 3D / 2D drawings and related documentation.
- Assist with the conversion of legacy CAD data from Solid Edge to SolidWorks.
- Operate and maintain engineering's 3D printer to produce prototypes for design validation and testing.
- Learn about various manufacturing processes and how they influence design decisions.
- Participate in team meetings and design reviews to gain exposure to engineering discussions and decision-making.
