Job Title: Intake Specialist
Location: Paterson, NJ (with occasional coverage in Hackensack, NJ)
Pay Rate: $17 - $20 per hour (based on experience)

About Us:
We are a pro-bono law firm dedicated to providing free legal services to individuals and families in need. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Intake Specialist to join our team in Paterson, NJ.

Position Overview:
The Intake Specialist will be the first point of contact for potential clients seeking legal services. This role involves conducting phone interviews, processing applications, and using legal software to determine eligibility for services. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be bilingual in English and Spanish, and possess prior customer service and office experience.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct intake interviews over the phone with prospective clients.
• Complete checklists and questionnaires to determine eligibility for legal services.
• Enter and report findings accurately in legal software systems.
• Perform general office duties, including typing, filing, and managing emails in Outlook.
• Provide excellent customer service with professionalism and empathy.
• Primarily work in the Paterson office, with rare travel to Hackensack as needed.

Qualifications:

• Must be bilingual (English/Spanish).
• Prior customer service and office experience required.
• Proficient with computers, Microsoft Outlook, and typing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented.
• Must have a personal vehicle for occasional travel between offices.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am- 4:30pm or 9pm - 5pm
