We are seeking a passionate and skilled Assistant Program Coordinator to help lead our Youth Residential Shelter Program and support our mission of providing safety, stability, and hope to at-risk youth.

About the Role
The Assistant Program Coordinator plays a critical leadership role by supporting daily operations, supervising direct care staff, ensuring high-quality residential services, and maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment for youth. This position works closely with the Program Coordinator and Executive Director and serves as a key liaison between leadership, caregivers, and clinical staff.
You will oversee behavior management, crisis response, documentation compliance, staff scheduling, performance evaluations, and training — while modeling professionalism and trauma-informed care at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Oversight
Support the overall operation of therapeutic group / shelter care services.
Monitor behavior management plans and model appropriate interactions for staff and youth.
Coordinate medical and dental services in collaboration with the Registered Nurse.
Supervise and guide direct care staff, providing coaching, evaluations, and corrective action when needed.
Ensure proper staffing levels, oversee weekly scheduling, and process payroll timesheets.
Crisis Response & Safety
Demonstrate strong crisis intervention skills and respond to clinical emergencies.
Ensure timely incident reporting and adherence to agency and state guidelines.
Maintain a calm, professional presence during stressful or emotionally charged situations.
Documentation & Compliance
Oversee program logs, staff documentation, and HRIS entries.
Ensure compliance with state laws, Medicaid guidelines, and agency policies.
Maintain accurate communication and respond to internal / external inquiries within 24 hours.
Staff Development & Training
Participate in interviewing prospective employees.
Provide or coordinate onboarding, orientation, and ongoing training for team members.
Facilitate monthly supervision and coordinate mandatory staff meetings.
Collaboration & Communication
Serve as the primary liaison for staff, leadership, and external partners.
Communicate updates, expectations, and program needs clearly and consistently.
Represent Avidity professionally within the community and during all interactions.
Additional Duties
Assist with outings and client activities.
Oversee facility safety, including center and alarm systems.
Support agency operations during hurricanes, pandemics, or emergencies.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, Special Education, or related field required.
Minimum of 4 years of experience working with at-risk youth in residential, behavioral health, or therapeutic settings.
Master’s degree preferred.
Skills & Requirements
Strong leadership, communication, and crisis management skills.
Ability to supervise staff and ensure a trauma-informed, supportive environment.
Knowledge of youth behavioral health, residential care operations, and systemic approaches to trauma.
Computer proficiency (email, online applications, HRIS systems).
Valid Florida driver’s license, required insurance limits (10 / 20 / 10), and clean driving record (6 points max).
Ability to pass all criminal background checks and complete all annual training.
