Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Sr Engineering Technician for a contract position in Overland Park, KS. The opportunity will be six months with a strong chance for a long-term extension.

Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled professional to function as a senior engineering technician, technical design specialist, and/or supervisor. This role requires advanced technical expertise to address complex design challenges, typically within a specific engineering discipline, and contribute to the development of innovative engineering solutions.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Utilize digital tools and design software (, CAD, BIM, D modeling) to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables.
• Provide consultation, training, and oversight to other engineering technicians to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to project standards.
• Review project requirements and determine the correct format and contents of the required deliverables.
• Promote quality within project/group/section and ensure deliverables comply with specific codes and standards.
• Participate in and lead process improvement activities and assignments.
• Responsible for drawing control and historical records, utilizing the appropriate method as established by the project.
• Apply basic engineering principles and established design practices in developing complex design concepts and deliverables.
• Perform design calculations, detailed material quantities and estimates, and records.
• Coordinate with other design group personnel to review and exchange project information necessary for design development.
• Support field activities and communicate project design requirements, progress, and schedules.
• Assist with the identification of key client interests and drivers and communicate these to project team members.
• Develop and communicate appropriate design standards and process improvement activities.
• Identify training and development needs for supervised personnel and participate in training efforts.

Qualifications:

• Must live within miles of a BV office.
• years of experience minimum.
• Experienced with Bentley Microstation D and/or AutoCad D substation design.
• Recognised for expertise in one or more areas.
