Job Summary
Responsible for the overall enterprise strategy, effectiveness, availability, and efficiency of data center operations as it pertains to server, storage, and power infrastructure. This role takes ownership of all aspects of the engineering for the data center, including but not limited to server hardware / software standards and server and system configuration, deployment, and maintenance. This position leads the investigation of, and migration to new technologies, evaluates capacity utilization, and forecasts resource needs to maintain availability and support of IT systems for the organization.

Job Specific Responsibilities
Daily assignments may include but are not limited to :
1. Oversee the overall performance, availability, and strategic direction of data center, enterprise systems, and storage infrastructure.
2. Understand all departmental policies and ensure team is educated on those policies. Assist with periodic review of and edits to policies as necessary.
3. Provide strategic guidance for systems, storage technologies, and related initiatives.
4. Coordinate and manage lifecycle activities for servers, storage, power infrastructure, and related data center systems.
5. Support and maintain all data center infrastructure, including environmental systems, servers, and storage.
6. Maintain operational listing of all vendors and partner contacts and critical support information.
7. Maintain adequate and accurate inventory of supported hardware, as well as equipment and supplies necessary to support team operations.
8. Monitor and maintain the availability, performance, and security of system software, hardware, and applications.
9. Analyze, install, configure, patch, and update operating systems, utilities, and related applications.
10. Manage enterprise backup, replication, and recovery systems, ensuring proper monitoring and function.
11. Assist with development of system recovery procedures to support BCDR strategies.
12. Manage day to day activities of the System Administration team, including oversight of the IT project portfolio and service processes (incidents, requests, and changes).
13. Maintain staffing, manage schedules and PTO, and provide ongoing training and coaching to the team.
14. Lead documentation efforts and develop training content for onboarding and cross training.
15. Develop, maintain, and track on training and advancement plans for everyone on the team. Assist with budget needs estimates to support training goals.
16. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for critical activities to ensure consistent execution.
17. Identify recurring issues and record them in the ITSM system for problem and knowledge management.
18. Assess and communicate risks associated with technology systems, investments, and operations.
19. Lead research, development, implementation, and adherence to enterprise systems security policies and procedures.
20. Develop, review, and maintain operational reports and performance metrics for supported applications and systems.
21. Coordinate and execute annual subscription, maintenance, and SSL certificate renewals, maintaining timely review and uninterrupted service.
22. Assist with budget planning to support equipment refresh cycles, capacity expansion, and new technologies.
23. Review received invoices related to supported applications and systems for accuracy.
24. Conduct ongoing research to stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, supporting future business processes and environmental needs.
25. Complete assignments delegated by the department director in a timely and accurate manner.

Physical Capabilities
Ability to lift equipment that should not exceed 75 lbs. Ability to walk to all areas of the hospital and TTU
Environmental / Working Conditions
Work area is in an office environment, well lit, and subject to varying indoor temperatures. Extended periods of sitting are required. Travel is required as necessary for offsite meetings. Participate in on-call as required, including nights and weekends. Must provide own transportation, mileage will be reimbursed at current UMC rates.
