You will serve as a PAINTER LEADER (EXPERT) in the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PEARL HARBOR NAVAL SHIPYARD & IMF within the DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY.

Duties include performing abrasive blast on the exterior and interior of ships and submarines above and below ground level from various heights, performing just-in-time diagnostic and troubleshooting to prevent loss of product, ensuring other workers follow instructions received from supervisors to meet deadlines, assuring safety and housekeeping rules are followed, ensuring that needed plans, blueprints, materials, and tools are available, and that needed stock is obtained from supply locations.
Requirements include being a US Citizen, being determined suitable for federal employment, participating in the direct deposit pay program, successfully passing the E-Verify employment verification check, registering for Selective Service if male born after 12-31-59, wearing personal protective equipment continuously for the duration of the work shift, working in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present, being able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time, working onboard ships, climbing ladders and scaffolding, working in small or confined spaces, and being subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements.
